Mounamelanoyi - Sagara Sangamam (Telugu)

Fell in love with this soulful Telugu song when I heard it on Muziboo, and decided that very minute that I’d cover it some day….

Beautifully woven into sweetness and sheer simplicity, the experience of singing this song was in itself, a total delight! “No going overboard with expressions; this is a very different song – simple and straight from the heart” – that’s what Raj kept telling me, knowing how much I love expressions and expressing in my songs….:P I’m indeed very happy to cover this song with a wonderful singer like Raj. Interestingly, neither of us speak Telugu. But I owe it to him for having mentored me and getting the best out of me in the song….

Thank you so much, Latha, for lending me the track for this song! :) :)

Logo Na Maro Ise (Anamika)

Always been an admirer of Asha-tai's melodious voice, style, voice dynamics and diverse range of songs. Who isn't? I'm just one of those countless fans. This number is one of her very cute presentations with some bouncy music by the music maestro Panchamda. Whenever I listen to this song or any other gem sung by Asha-ji, I picture the very cute, innocent, perky, playful, profound, rebellious & utterly romantic facets of her persona... :) These are the secret ingredients she adds to her magical songs... ;) This song is for you, your spirit - Asha-tai, for that untouchable versatality of yours, for being a sensational singing prototype, for setting a trend to make your own space no matter where you are and which era you belong, be a free spirit and let yourself go...express with music!

The song is quite demanding in terms of energy, but I totally enjoyed myself! Tried my best...pardon my mistakes :)

I'd like to thank - Leena, for providing me the K-track :) and Raj, for mixing the song so nicely for me despite his busy schedule. :)

Aye Mere Pyare Watan - Happy Indepedence Day! :)

Firstly, a very Happy Independence Day to all of you! :) I’ve chosen a song that’s very close to my heart and gives me goosebumps each time I listen to it – A very heart-rending song from the movie Kabuliwala based on a story ‘Kabuliwala’ written by Rabindranath Tagore. The void is so easily felt as Manna Dey ji’s soulful singing and Prem Dhawan’s lyrics melts your heart and narrate the feelings of people who are away from their homes and dearly miss their motherland….

Specially dedicated to our soldiers who stay away from their dear ones and without whose sacrifices we wouldn’t be celebrating Independence today….and also to all those who tirelessly contribute to the progress of our nation….

Though I had the K-track for this song, I preferred to give this a raw appeal with just vocals and some accompaniment – something that I liked in Sunidhi Chauhan’s version on Amul Star Voice of India forum….I would like to thank Gopu for providing me the keyboard accompaniment. It was indeed very nice of him to go out of his way and do this at the last minute…. :)

Pardon my recording and mixing mistakes….headphones please…. :)

Jai Hind!

Aaiye meherbaan - Cover

Very happy to upload a new version of my cover with Raj's professional mixing. Thank you, Raj! It’s truly very encouraging when you have people who are always willing to help and guide you…. :)

Whenever I hear this song, all I can remember is the ‘Venus’ of Indian cinema – the bewitching beauty – Madhubala. She was one actress who could impart some of the most mischievous expressions with innocence and grace. Her radiant face, that trademark lopsided smile and gleaming eyes – who can ever forget her?

My upload would seem incomplete without the video :)

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam - Cover

A very soulful song surrendering to a surge of intense emotions including love, compassion & sacrifice. Tried singing a very different genre of song this time. It was a wonderful experience singing this classic composition by Ismail Darbar, enacted by the ravishing Aishwarya Rai, demure Ajay Devgan and the very jaunty Salman Khan. This is a duet song that I sang solo. So please bear with my mistakes…. :)
Many thanks to Raj for mixing this song so wonderfully! :)
Unforgettable performance by the trio…!

Bhanwara Bada Nada Hai (Cover)

This is one of Asha ji’s sweetest and early numbers. Simply adore her cute and playful expressions as she sings for the very beautiful and fresh-as-a-bud Waheeda Rehman. Love the metaphor of ‘Bhanwara’ for her love interest! :D
Singing this song, was a different experience altogether! :) Though without Raj’s perfect mixing the song wouldn’t sound as beautiful. Thanks for the help, Raj! :)
I’d also like to thank Latha for lending me the K-track. :)
